1. Information we collect

We collect account information such as email, display name, and profile data provided through third-party sign-in. This information is necessary for authentication and personalizing your user experience.

We also store business data that you enter into the app, including the chart of accounts, journals, and financial reports generated from that data. This data belongs to you and is used to provide the accounting features you need.

To maintain service quality, we may collect usage data such as device type, app version, error logs, and basic analytics. This information helps us identify and fix technical issues quickly.

If you use the Smart Journal feature, transaction text you submit may be processed to generate journal drafts. If you use the Voice Journal feature, Jurnalin will request microphone permission and record the audio you provide to create journal drafts from your voice input.

Voice Journal recordings are securely sent to Jurnalin backend services and AI providers such as Google Gemini for analysis. Temporary audio files on your device are deleted after processing, and the generated draft is only used to help you review and record the transaction.

We store push notification tokens to deliver notifications related to your business activity, such as due date reminders or other important notifications.

On the free plan, device identifiers and ad interaction data may be collected by third-party ad providers to display relevant advertisements.

2. How we use data

The data we collect is primarily used to provide app features, store your accounting records, manage authentication, and improve overall service performance.

We may also use data to send product notifications about updates or new features, provide customer support when you encounter issues, and prevent service abuse.

3. Storage and security

Your data is stored on infrastructure that uses encryption in transit and at rest. This means your data is protected with industry-standard security technology when transmitted between your device and our servers, as well as when stored on our servers.

Each workspace or business is isolated with role-based access control (RBAC). This ensures that data between businesses remains separate and can only be accessed by users with appropriate permissions within that business.

4. Third parties

We do not sell your personal data to any party. Your privacy is our priority and we are committed to keeping your data secure.

We only share limited data with infrastructure providers necessary to operate the app, including Supabase (for data storage and backend services), Firebase (for analytics and push notifications), Sentry (for error tracking), Google AdMob (for ads on the free plan), Google Gemini or similar AI services (to process Smart Journal and Voice Journal), and other official distribution channels.

5. Data retention

Your business data will be retained while your account is active or until you explicitly request data deletion.

If you decide to delete your account, data will be scheduled for permanent removal in accordance with our retention policy. You can start deletion from the app settings or through the account deletion request page on the Jurnalin website. This process ensures that your data is no longer stored in our systems after the retention period ends.

6. User rights

As a user, you have the right to request access, correction, export, or deletion of your personal data. This means you can view the data we store about you, correct inaccurate information, export your data, or request its deletion.
